DAILY DEAL SITES
A great, savvy and canny way to shop online is to subscribe to daily deal websites. These sites will send their subscribers details of bargains of the day - whether that be local ones, such as spas and restaurants, or national ones, such as products and goods. I have a number of favourite ones that I use, which I will highlight here. Again, if you've got an ad blocker you may not see the graphic links but they're very nice if you want to switch the blocker off!

The one I use most is Groupon. I have signed up to get a daily newsletter for deals that are happening in and around my nearest city as well as their national goods email. Their deals are fantastic, often with 50-80% off of the recommended retail price. I've taken advantage of a family photoshoot, saving 90%, Swarovski earrings and a bracelet, saving 80%, plants for the garden and these satchels. Not only have I saved loads of money, the products have been great and the process is really quick and easy. They also offer training courses at huge discounts - ones I've spotted include training to become an airline steward, project management, photography and designing mobile phone apps.
LivingSocial is another great daily deal site that I have used. Again, it shows deals in the subscriber's area, as well as products and services. A great one I noticed recently was a deal for Ocado shopping which included, amongst other things, £30 of shopping for £25! I like this site best for its spa and restaurant deals.
Another site I've spotted but haven't yet investigated is Wowcher which advertises itself as 'a deal a day site to get unbeatable deals on the best stuff to do, see, visit, eat and buy in a variety of cities in the UK.' It seems to focus more on the luxurious side of things - spas, restaurants, hairdressing and cocktails!
The last one I have found but again, not explored properly is Dealcloud. Again, it's based on the subscriber's nearest city as well as offering products and services nationally. I especially like this site as for every deal bought, they will make a free donation to a good cause of the customer's choice.
The key thing to note about these deals, however, is the expiry date. Essentially, one is buying a voucher and that voucher will expire - so make sure you order the item or book the experience in time! Other points to note: make sure you are truly getting a deal and that it isn't actually cheaper elsewhere and check how much postage charges may be.
